This fast-paced, dealership is looking for a strong leader that will be able to support and advance all aspects of our Automotive / Motorsports Service Departments. The right candidate must be energetic, dynamic and results-oriented with a proven track record of production, profitability, and excellence in customer satisfaction. It is not enough to be successful in your own position; you must be able to foster success throughout the entire team.
Job Description
This role will involve working with the General Manager in planning, organizing and supervising all day to day activities of the service department. You will work closely with the Parts Manager and the General Sales Manager to ensure our goal of routinely delivering outstanding customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Strong leadership, motivation and recruitment skills – able to effectively build, develop and manage a team to increase production and customer retention.
- Ability to effectively execute yearly business plans.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Manage and maintain effective service bookings
- Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them
- Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the Service department
- Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, provincial and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, WCB right-to-know, etc.
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all service department staff with a quarterly review process
- Provide technical assistance to employees as needed
- Monitor repair order trends and maintain reporting systems required by general management and the factory
- Quality-check completed jobs, meet manufacturer's quality requirements.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Automotive service manager: 2 years (preferred)
Technical Skills:
- Reynolds and Reynolds an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
